We always jump at the chance to work with couples who have a unique vision for their wedding day, and Kathy & Alex were no exception. This Brooklyn girl and California boy met right here in RVA, and stood out from day one – bold colors, geometric shapes, industrial vibes. From the start, we had to find a venue that matched their personality and love for this city. After a lot of touring around town, The Frontier Project, located in the up-and-coming Scott’s Addition neighborhood, came out on top. This 1940’s warehouse was the perfect setting to bring all their ideas to life.
With the venue chosen, the remaining details seamlessly fell into place. Kathy & Alex’s personality could truly be seen in every detail, big or small – a unique hashtag and guest book that both embraced the city where they fell in love, readings during the personalized ceremony to reflect Kathy’s feminist values, an overabundance of dessert combined with an epic mac & cheese bar to serve Alex’s appetite, local craft beer and cider to enhance the Richmond experience for their out-of-town guests, and custom invitations and day-of signage to tie all the details together. So much thought went into pulling all of this together, and not once did they stray from their original vision.
