Dancing the Night Away: A Nostalgic Wedding Celebration

Robin and Hunter’s wedding was a beautiful blend of warmth, nostalgia, and joyful celebration, making their special day truly unforgettable.

Full of kindness and a desire to throw a big party to celebrate with all of their friends and family, it was impossible not to enjoy every minute of planning with this couple. Though Robin and Hunter currently live in New York, Hunter’s family is from Richmond and the Country Club of Virginia was the perfect setting to host their special day. The weekend had the essence of a destination wedding for both the couple and the majority of the guests, since so many were travelling into town from afar. The couple hosted both their welcome party and rehearsal dinner at the Historic Jefferson Hotel and many guests were delighted by their stay in this iconic Richmond destination.

On a picture-perfect day in mid-September, guests were welcomed to a scenic backdrop supplied by the gorgeous golf courses at the club. After saying “I do”, the couple invited guests under an elegant tent for an evening filled with a delectable dinner and a nostalgic playlist.

The ambience of Robin & Hunter’s reception was soft and warm with a unique color palette of peach and orange, along with hints of blue. Hanging rattan lanterns added a whimsical touch and created a magical glow, providing soft lighting for the evening. The lanterns hung alongside green, leafy vines and elegant florals at each table, tying every detail of their decor together.

When the night turned to dancing, Robin and Hunter had a surprise for their guests. As an ode to Hunter’s father for his many years of playing in a band, the evening offered a nostalgic soundtrack that encouraged guests to dance and reminisce. Since the couple specifically requested that only music from before 2003 be played at their wedding, guests danced and sang along to every song!

Robin and Hunter’s wedding was a joyous occasion, bringing their dream of hosting a grand celebration with friends and family to life. We wish them endless joy, happiness, and a playlist of throwback classics! Congratulations to Robin and Hunter!
