A Wedding for a Wedding Planner: Nikita & Joey

This week on the Glint Events wedding blog, we have the honor of sharing the wedding of our assistant wedding planner, Nikita. To say that this wedding was gorgeous is an absolute understatement. The weather was perfect, and she planned (then replanned, and replanned) her wedding to a T — and we would expect nothing less! Nikita and Joey had to reschedule their wedding day multiple times, but remained committed to each other and to spending their special day with their entire family.

“My inspiration for the design was a modern twist on a fall wedding — I wanted the warmth of fall to translate through the vibe. After postponing 3 times and planning, unexpectedly, for 2 years, our style changed A LOT…but the seasons changed too. Since our ladies already bought their dresses, I did my best to incorporate the original 2019 color palette into our 2021 updated color palette. I wanted it to feel a little different and not something that looked like every other Pinterest post.”

Nikita walked down the aisle with her father to an instrumental version of “A Thousand Years”.

Nikita’s niece was clearly the star of the show.

She made the welcome sign, pictured above, herself!

“We loved the outdoor aspects of Oakdale and the modern look inside. It had a relaxed vibe but was still pretty. We felt like the venue was a happy medium between Joey and I’s personalities and styles.”

“Our favorite moments of the day were our first look, where we read our letters to each other, and seeing all of our friends and family that we haven’t seen in so long due to COVID. Finally getting to marry my best friend after such a long wait and having everyone there to celebrate with us was incredible.”

They danced to “September” by James Arthur, and the joy in the room was beyond palpable.
