Dearest Gentle Reader: The Story of Abbey + Dixon’s Wedding Day

The story of Abbey and Dixon’s wedding day began years ago when a friendship blossomed into romance during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their celebration of love, surrounded by cherished friends and family at the Country Club of Virginia, was nothing short of swoon-worthy.  "You are wise or perhaps unusually lucky to understand friendship to be the best possible foundation a marriage can have." — Queen Charlotte, Bridgerton Season 1.

The wedding week kicked off with a bit of a twist, as the weather forecast predicted a shift to their rain plan was needed. Abbey and Dixon remained calm with the changes, embracing the intimacy and beauty of a sailcloth tent instead of an open air ceremony on the terraced lawn. After making a few tweaks to the original reception decor design, the rain plan seemed as though it was the primary plan from the very beginning.

Despite the rain outside, the inside of the tent was filled with love and happiness that not even the weather could dampen. The reception space was a work of art. Picture stepping into a scene straight out of an English countryside dream, with soft blues and pinks casting an elegant, romantic vibe that could rival any Bridgerton ball. Trees filled with twinkle lights and warm, ambient lighting reflected the loving and welcoming nature of both families.

Their dinner was a unique twist on tradition: a stationed affair designed to encourage guests to mingle, while sampling a variety of options catering to all ages and dietary needs. The couple took special care to include gluten-free choices for family members and plenty of kid-friendly fare, ensuring everyone felt at home.

A whimsical bubble exit, featuring bubble guns, added a playful and unforgettable moment; a definite game changer in wedding farewells. In lieu of a welcome bag for wedding guests waiting at their hotels, Abbey and Dixon opted for something less traditional: late night snacks showcasing local favorites like Route 11 Chips, Liquid IV, Proud Source Water, and Ukrop’s rainbow cookies. It was a delicious end to the evening that perfectly encapsulated their personalized approach to the entire day.

We were honored to be a part of bringing their whimsical wedding day vision to reality.

Our toast to the couple: wishing Abbey & Dixon a long and happy life together!
