From Charleston Charm to Coastal Chic: Lisa & Mike's Wedding
We first met Lisa and Mike in 2019 at the wedding of Lisa's sister, Alexa (read Alexa & Howard’s wedding blog here!). Having beautifully crafted Alexa's wedding, we were delighted to embark on another special journey with Lisa and Mike, planning a celebration that would uniquely reflect their own distinct vision and style. Inspired by the charm of Charleston, SC, and the classic Serena & Lily aesthetic, Lisa and Mike envisioned a coastal wedding that captured their shared love for Virginia Beach. Their dream wedding would exude a relaxed yet elegant vibe, enhanced by a sophisticated blue and white palette accented with natural rattan elements.
Love at First Linen
Early in the planning process, Lisa and Mike chose a stunning linen from Nüage Designs: Porcelain Blue Amara. This beautiful fabric became the cornerstone of their design. Me by Meg Paper Design created a custom stationery pattern inspired by the linen, which was then incorporated into their invitations, seating chart, and a striking round bar from Paisley & Jade for cocktail hour.
Honoring Heritage and Creating Beauty
Lisa and Mike honored Lisa's Jewish heritage with a Ketubah signing, the traditional breaking of the glass, and a ceremony beneath a beautiful floral chuppah. Surrounded by family, they signed the Ketubah, which was later framed and displayed for guests to admire. Working with A Morgan Floral, we customized their chosen chuppah design to perfection. The wooden structure was adorned with blue hydrangeas, lush greenery, and delicate white accent flowers. After the ceremony, this breathtaking floral arrangement was repurposed at the reception, elegantly showcasing their wedding cake from Pearl’s Bake Shoppe.
A Dream Come True
Lisa and Mike’s coastal inspired wedding was gorgeous from start to finish and made for a wedding their whole family will remember. The mother of the bride shared her heartfelt appreciation with our senior wedding planner, Brooke:
“The wedding was everything Lisa and Mike dreamed of and I was so pleased with how everything turned out! It was exactly the way I envisioned it with that Charleston/Serena Lilly look! Everyone who attended said it was the most beautiful wedding and absolutely loved celebrating outside and could not believe how gorgeous the flowers, table settings, bars, stage and outdoor lighting was. We loved every minute of it!”
We cherished crafting the memorable moments of both Zimmerman sisters' weddings and look forward to creating more uniquely inspired weddings with wonderful couples like them. Ready to turn your wedding visions to reality? Let's start planning your dream celebration!
