Celebrating Success at the VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center Gala

Earlier this year, VCU Massey Cancer Center came to our Glint Events planning team wanting to celebrate hitting a major milestone: becoming designated a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). This highest level of recognition from the NCI resulted in a name change for the organization to: VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center.

This recognition also meant it was time for a celebration: one joyful night of “Thank you for being a part of the Circus” to all who had been integral in achieving this level of success. They wanted fun, they wanted to recognize all who had contributed to Massey achieving this recognition, and they wanted to create many memorable moments. Our team understood the mission and worked from planning to implementation, and everything in between, to execute our client’s vision.

The event was held at Main Street Station in October with over 500 of guests in attendance. The rain cleared just in time for guests to take a step off the Richmond sidewalk and straight into the Circus. Event highlights included: a personal welcome for each guest from the Director of Massey, Dr. Robert A. Winn; a VIP pre-function; Circus-themed performers, including fire breathers, aerialists, and jugglers; themed signature cocktails, including “Masseyspresso Martini,” “Comprehensive Maple Bourbon Cider,” and “Cotton Candy Cure”; and, dinner “Under the Big Top”. Once dinner concluded, guests were invited to the dancefloor to party the night away with the circus performers.

Our team was honored to have the opportunity to create a memorable celebration to recognize this incredible achievement, and all who were a part of making it a reality. Congratulations, VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center!
